An AFM rescuer told a court this morning that he had found it hard to believe that drama teacher Erin Tanti, 23 had fallen down Dingli Cliffs because his injuries, at first glance, were not compatible with a fall from such a height – about eight storeys.

Lance Bombarier Pierre Cassar was among the rescuers who assisted Mr Tanti in the incident on March 19 in which drama student Lisa Marie Zahra, 15, died.

Tanti is accused of murder and of assisting Ms Zahra to commit suicide. He is pleading not guilty.

Bombardier Cassar also told the court that Mr Tanti initially told his rescuers that he had ‘fallen’ down the cliffs.

At the end of today’s sitting, Magistrate Audrey Demicoli ruled that there was enough evidence for the indictment of Mr Tanti.
