People and Co. Ltd, an IBM business partner supplying statistics, data mining, data collection, survey research and text analysis solutions, recently held a seminar at Smart City on solutions for predictive analytics for iGaming.

The seminar targeted iGaming executives, analysts, marketing personnel, such as customer segmentation and customer relationship managers, as well as fraud and risk specialists.

People & Co. Ltd CEO David Cutajar provided an overview of predictive analytics in the iGaming industry and gave a practical demonstration of how the technologies work. He spoke about the IBM-SPSS approach to data mining and predictive analytics and elaborated how combination of IBM’s latest database technologies, business intelligence, social media analytics and data and text mining/statistics/predictive analytics are now becoming increasingly integrated as IBM’s business analytics and information management solutions.

The seminar included a demonstration of IBM-SPSS Modeler 16, the latest version of this versitile and powerful software, and other technologies using online Casino, Leisure, Poker and Sportsbook scenarios. Some participants also had the opportunity to interact with the technologies presented with a hands-one workshop.

Data mining offers organisations many benefits, including a more detailed view of their customers or assets, a clearer view of current conditions and deeper insight into future events. By choosing a high-performance data mining tool, organisations can mine their data more efficiently and gain a significant return on investment by understanding the patterns in their data, allowing better decisions to be made, which drive superior outcomes.

IBM SPSS Modeler is a data mining workbench that enables improved decision making with quick development of predictive models using business expertise and quick deployment of these models into business operations. Designed around the Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining model, it supports the entire data mining process, from business understanding to deployment.

IBM-SPSS Modeler uses a client/server architecture, allowing resource-intensive operations to be executed on a server. This results in increased performance as memory intensive operations can be done on the server without downloading data to the client computer. IBM SPSS Modeler Server also supports SQL optimisation and in-database modelling capabilities, delivering further benefits in performance.
