The German striker has been sidelined with a hamstring injury but club doctor Roberto Bianchini said he is now close to complete his rehabilitation. Apology: Japan’s football chief has apologised to Qatar 2022 World Cup organisers after he stated his country was ready to step in as replacement hosts. Kuniya Daini, Japan FA chief, has sent an apology to Qatar 2022 claiming he was mistranslated in an interview. “The article was not based on the actual remarks I made,” Daini said. “At the same time I wish to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to you and all the other concerned parties.”

Januzaj: Man. United winger Adnan Januzaj has decided to play international football for Belgium, the country’s national team manager Marc Wilmots said yesterday. Born in Belgium to ethnic Albanian parents from Kosovo, Januzaj was eligible to play for a number of countries and had been wooed by national teams including Belgium, Albania, Kosovo and England.
