A 25-year-old Romanian living in St Julian’s was given a 16-month jail term suspended for four years after he pleaded guilty to stealing a €500 HTC mobile phone from a club Paceville.

Magistrate Marsanne Farrugia warned Ionut Neahim that he could be jailed for three years over such a crime. She also ordered him to pay the victim €500.
