A laser show will light up the Grand Harbour to mark the 10th anniversary of Malta’s EU accession next month.
The spectacle, being held on April 30, will be followed by a series of firework shows and performances from international top DJ Gareth Amery, producer of chart-topping hit Concrete Angel, and a number of supporting local performers.
Addressing a press conference to announce the celebrations, Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funding Ian Borg said the event is expected to attract thousands to the Grand Harbour.
The festivities are being organised by the Foundation for National Celebrations, which Dr Borg said is organising some 60 events to mark the number of national anniversaries being celebrated this year.
Ylenia Duncan, the first child to be born in Malta after it become an EU state, will also be at the celebrations.
Young Ylenia was born at 12.10am on the day that Malta became an official member of the EU.
