I thoroughly agree with Eddy Privitera about the ridiculous price of Lyrica (pregabalin) in Malta (April 12).

This drug is now standard medication in most cases of neuropathic (nerve damage) pain.

Patients with chronic neuropathic pain, which is often very severe, have to pay for Lyrica themselves; how on earth is the average wage earner expected to afford this medicine, which is often prescribed on a long-term basis?

I urge the new minister of health to look into this, as a matter of urgency.
