Pigeons were photographed zooming in on food plates in a prominent square in Valletta, even as patrons sat at the table. How hygienic is this for patrons? It is instances being a nuisance like this that bring about calls for the culling of pigeons.

Breaking the law

A parking place that must have had the blessing of the local council in St Paul’s Bay is definitely breaking the law.

Parking spaces in the locality are at a premium, but who was the wise guy who came up with this bright idea?

Arrogance at its best

Several calls on the local council of St Paul’s Bay and tourism authorities over the past few years have fallen on deaf ears. They have been asked to remove the boundary wall of a car rental company in Pioneer Road corner with Il-Qroll Street, which has been extended out on to the road by a couple of feet. People with pushchairs or wheelchairs have to go out into the middle of the road, since the pavement is very narrow.

Destination unknown

It is about time Transport Malta assigns a number of employees to visit every road on the island with the aim of replacing broken or faded ones.

This sign leading into St Anne Street, Floriana, is one of many that has faded. It is very difficult to make heads or tails of the words, especially in the dark.

Law of the jungle

This is the daily situation at the Strand in Sliema at 2pm. Is the bus lane intended for buses to park on or to pass through? It is totally congested at this time of day and no wardens seem to be around.

Do these double deckers own the bus lane? It seems to be so, as all route buses have to make use of the outer lane that is meant for motorists.
