Germans bagging the best spots on the beach and around the pool is a particular aggravation for Britons on holiday.

But now it can be revealed that the Germans do not like the British while on a break, either.

In fact, the Germans appear not to be particularly keen even on their fellow countrymen while on trips away, according to a survey of Germans by online travel agency ab-in-den-urlaub.de.

The poll showed Germans on holiday particularly dislike English, Chinese or Russian travellers, as well as Germans.

Only nine per cent of those polled found blocked sunloungers annoying.

More surprising was that Germans, often perceived as hale and hearty on holiday, get stressed when away, with the survey revealing that 77 per cent cannot relax while on a break, with even their spouses and close friends appearing to upset them.

Just four per cent reckoned their holiday companions were ‘not a problem’, with other complaints being about food in hotels and noisy children.
