There is an evolving interaction between computer technology and the architecture profession. Today’s architects and engineers handle large amounts of data. This makes it increasingly vital for any architectural practice to operate efficient IT platforms that can handle today’s professional demands. This is why they need reliable technology to back them up.

“HP’s portfolio of Z Workstations shows how in a professional environment, technology becomes a prime protagonist and performer for success,” says Christopher Demicoli, Business Development Manager at Smart Technologies.

“At Smart Technologies, we have worked with professional companies who lease their IT platform from us and then outsource all the services related to installation, maintenance and upgrading. Knowing they are professionally backed up helps them concentrate and dedicate all their resources on their proper work,” added Chris Demicoli.

With the Z workstation, HP continues to drive innovation across an evolving workplace bringing outstanding image accuracy and mission-critical reliability. The HP Z displays are optimised for use with HP Z workstations. HP Z displays are ideal for engineers, architects, designers and photographers whose work success depends on image accuracy.

“Customers want products that are designed and engineered to meet the most demanding computing and visualisation needs, and HP’s Z range has become synonymous with meeting this challenge,” says Jeff Wood, Vice President, Worldwide Product Management, Commercial Solutions Business Unit, HP. “The new HP Z230 workstations and Z displays meet these workload demands at an affordable price, and demonstrate HP’s leadership in providing solutions for professional solutions at all levels.”

Brendon Muscat, senior associate at TBA Periti with a specialisation in structural engineering and project management works on a Z workstation, supplied and installed by Smart Technologies.

“We purchased two Z420 workstations so that we could handle the large computational requirements of the latest structural software packages we use for the dynamic and seismic analysis of large scale buildings. We also use the units for 3D conceptual renders and animations, as well as any large scale montages,” explains Brendon Muscat.

“Working with Smart Technologies has been a great experience for us. They cater for all our IT requirements and go beyond there remit to provide us with the most effective service especially when equipment fails so that we are back online and operational as quickly as possible. As for the Z workstations, they have reduced our waiting time for the execution of the specific tasks as well as the overall increase in speed when working with large and complex models,” added Brendon Muscat.

Besides offering outstanding image accuracy, exceptional adjustability and mission-critical reliability, HP’s Z displays deliver power savings of nearly 26 per cent compared to HP’s first-generation IPS technology products.

The new displays provide excellent coverage of the sRGB colour space. The displays also feature accurate colours across wider viewing angles compared to previous displays, improving team collaboration.
