Eleven people with mental health issues and members of the Step Ahead support group recently went for a six-day educational, social and cultural visit to Catania.
It was the group’s third such tour, the other visits taking them to Leeds and Manchester in the UK and to Poland. These experiences give participants an opportunity to share and learn from each other how to overcome life’s challenges, enrich themselves further with life skills and gain self-confidence in their own abilities.
The group is guided by social worker Pauline Camilleri, care worker Marlene Cauchi and occupational therapist Jeanette Falzon from Tal-Ibraġ Psychiatric Hospital in Gozo.
