Malta’s first cartoon music project will be launching its debut EP with a live performance at Rookies on Saturday. Kite Project’s multi-disciplinary venture supported by the Malta Arts Fund, has yielded four original songs – selected by the audience during an interactive gig by the band – and a music video. The music was recorded by Luke Grech and Kenny D’Ugo at Jubox Recording while the animated video was supervised and edited by Martin Bonnici from Shadeena.

Annemarie Mayo and Polina Starostenko drew all the animations for the Kite Project. Mayo and Grech are also part of the real-life band behind the cartoon characters, along with Joseph Axiak, Cheyenne Belle Xuereb, Janice Ellul and Lesnich Vassallo. Entrance to the EP launch is free.
