An Air Malta flight from London Heathrow was cancelled last night due to technical issues.

Passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and transport to and from the airport, a spokesman for the airline said.

He said that 60 passengers will be returning to Malta early this afternoon and another 10 this evening.

The aircraft is being repaired and is expected in Malta this afternoon.

As a consequence of the problem, an Air Malta flight to Manchester will be delayed and will operate as follows:

The spokesman said Air Malta gave utmost importance to the safety and well-being of its clients and crew and apologised to its clients for any inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond its control.
