After winning the league unbeaten the previous two years, Kavallieri RS2 had a difficult start to this season’s Division Two men’s championship after losing the opener to La Salle.

Kavallieri, under the guidance of Silvio Borg, reacted brilliantly to that defeat though and improved their performances game by game, winning all their remaining first round matches.

The second round brought new challenges as Kavallieri were beaten by Phoenix.

However, Kavallieri reacted superbly once again, winning the crucial clash against Sayitmalta HMS 31-24 to retain the title.

There were various players who contributed towards this Kavallieri success with a few veterans leading the youngsters coming up as the club seems to have a bright future in store.

Meanwhile, the Kavallieri RS2 women’s team emulated their male counterparts to retain the Division Two title.

After having placed third in the MHA Cup, the team showed more enthusiasm and commitment in the championship.

Having won the league unbeaten, the Kavallieri coaches were able to dedicate more playing time to fringe players which helped the team develop and flourish.

The newcomers’ experience will come handy next season when the team will play in Division One.
