Archbishop Paul Cremona will lead liturgical celebrations at St John’s CoCathedral in Valletta this weekend while auxiliary bishop Charles J. Scicluna will lead the celebrations at the Mdina Cathedral.

The Maundy Thursday celebrations at St John’s CoCathedral start at 9.30am tomorrow with the blessing of holy oils that will be used in the celebration of the sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick, Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders. Diocesan priests and religious will concelebrate with the Archbishop and renew the promises made on the day of their ordination.

Also on Maundy Thursday, at 6.30pm, the Solemn Memorial of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated. After Mass, the Archbishop will carry the Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose, where it will remain for the adoration of the faithful. Mgr Scicluna will lead the memorial at the Mdina Cathedral at 6.30pm.

On Good Friday, at 3.30 pm, Mgr Cremona and Mgr Scicluna will lead the celebration of the Lord's Passion at St John’s CoCathedral and the Mdina Cathedral, respectively.

The two bishops will lead the celebration of the Easter Vigil at St John’s and Mdina on Holy Saturday, at 8pm and, on Easter Sunday they will celebrate Easter Mass at 9.15 am at St John’s and 9.30 at Mdina.
