Some 30 students of the Libyan Institute at Ta’ Giorni are holding a peaceful protest outside the institute this morning because they were not granted an extension to continue their studies.

The students said they took a six-month study course at the institute and requested a six month extension.

They said that while Libya’s Minister for Education, who was in Malta recently, assured them they would get their extension, the school director accepted 55 requests and refused 33.
