Agreement has been reached between the Health Division and the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses that long standing disputes at Gozo General, Mater Dei and Boffa hospitals should be discussed.

The union said that, as a result, it was calling off industrial action.

Agreement was also reached on a discussion about the autonomy of Boffa Hospital and its utilisation as a pilot project for Mater Dei.

Other pending issues were also to be discussed.
