A Libyan man following a vocational course in Malta has admitted in court to sexually assaulting two 17-year-old girls, harassing them and offending public morals.

Farhat Fethalla, 41, who lives at Ta’ Giorni, admitted to the charges but asked for sentencing to be postponed until he finishes his exams, as he will be deported once sentencing is handed down.

Mr Fethalla, who is studying at Mcast,  sexually assaulted the girls near the school, the court heard. The victims, who are Maltese, also go to the school.

During the arraignment, defence lawyer Dean Hili asked Magistrate Anthony Vella for sentencing to be handed down in two weeks time after the final exams of the first part of his client's course.

There was no objection by Police Inspector Josric Mifsud who asked for appropriate bail measures to put in place until sentencing.

Magistrate Vella postponed judgment until May 5, giving time to Mr Fethalla to sit for his exams until such time as he is deported.
