This potential trap and overlying dilapidated building are not located in some village alley way but in Sliema’s Stella Maris Street, just metres from the promenade where thousands traverse daily. Does Sliema always have to look like a concrete jungle?

No peace and love

Whoever sprayed the peace (sic) sign and the words Peace and Love on one of the big boulders at San Blas Bay, in Gozo should be ashamed of himself. Whoever did it is definitely not peaceful, neither very loving towards the environment. Let’s hope the graffiti can be removed before summer as the beach is one of the most popular in Gozo.

Gross incompetence

It is truly incomprehensible why a policeman who was stationed near Wembley Stores, in Republic Street, Valletta, during the annual scout parade, should allow a white taxi to cross the parade between one scout group and another in South Street, which is a pedestrianised road. Not only, but the officer actually ordered people lined up on both sides of the road to make way for the taxi.

Against the traffic

A cyclist was recently seen heading towards the Ferries, in Sliema along Tower Road the wrong way on the pavement. Younger cyclists have been known to do this on the road. Surely, the authorities should make some way for them to exit this part of Sliema safely for both cyclists and other traffic. Even using Bizassa Street would be safer than riding against the traffic!

Marina eyesore

How very sad to see clothes hanging for drying, visible from the outside, in the balconies of one of the smartest block of flats on the island, overlooking the Ta’ Xbiex yacht marina. This should be strictly prohibited.

Above the rest

The Labour Party’s election logo of Malta For All is indeed being practised by the members of the government. Why should ministers and parliamentary secretaries be above everybody else? This car was parked in the middle of Merchants’ Street, Valletta, a pedestrian area, on Wednesday morning. Should they not lead by example?
