In a typical end of season encounter, St Andrew’s registered a sound victory over Gudja in a one-sided encounter.

Early on, it was Emiliano Lattes who drove the ball just inches over the Gudja bar.

Andrew’s forged ahead on 20 minutes when Trayo Grozev beat two defenders before hitting a low shot past Gudja goalkeeper Matthew Xerxen.

The Saints could have struck again four minutes later but this time Grozev was not accurate in front of goal and headed wide.

Gudja’s first opportunity came in the 23rd minute when Dalli sent a dangerous ball inside the area and St Andrew’s midfielder Joseph Farrugia almost committed an own goal when his clearance hit the post.

St Andrew’s responded on 32 minutes when Matthew Guillaumier sped past two defenders but was foiled by Xerxen.

Three minutes later St Andrew’s missed a golden opportunity when Grozev fired wide with only Xerxen to beat.

St Andrew’s scored a second a minute into the second half when Guillaumier dribbled past two defenders to shoot home.

The Saints even managed to add a third goal on 58 minutes when Joseph Farrugia found Grozev unmarked inside the area and this time the striker shot past Xerxen.

On the hour Grozev completed his hat-trick when he received a good ball from Lattes before firing the ball past Xerxen.

Gudja pulled a goal back in stoppage time when Mauro Brincat beat Matthew Towns with a firm drive.
