Kurt MahoneyKurt Mahoney was awarded an MSc in Forensic Computing from Cranfield University at MoD Shrivenham (Defence Academy of the UK).
Formerly known as the Royal Military College of Science, the Defence Academy of the UK is responsible for postgraduate education for the UK Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence civil servants.
Cranfield University’s Faculty of Defence and Security, is the academy’s academic partner.
Forensic computing involves in-depth scientific analysis of digital footprints from extraction to examination to the preparation of forensic reports for the court.
Mahoney is currently working with Mahoney & Co as a digital forensic consultant offering incident response, litigation support and ICT consultancy services. He is a registered and practising court expert with the courts of Malta.
The MSc was carried out following the award of a STEPS scholarship, partly financed by the EU – European Social Fund (ESF) under Operational Programme II – Cohesion Policy 2007-2013, Empowering People for More Jobs and a Better Quality of Life.
