• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• A charity sale in aid of the Friends of the Sick and Elderly will be held today from 7am to 1pm in the football ground near Victoria’s main car park. Sellers will be asked for a €10 donation per car.

• An exhibition is being held in Victory Square, Xagħra, to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the statues for the village’s Good Friday procession. Opening hours are as from today to Wednesday between 9am and noon and 4 to 7pm, on Thursday from 9am to noon and 8 to 11pm, on Friday from 8am to noon and 4.30 to 9pm, on Saturday from 9am to noon and 4 to 7pm, and next Sunday from 8am to noon and 4 to 9pm.

• A Last Supper exhibition is being held at the MUSEUM males section in San Ġorġ Preca Street, Nadur. It includes 15 life-size statues by James Azzopardi in a set-up specially built each year to create an ambience reminiscent of the times of Jesus. It is open today from 9.30 to 11.30am and 3 to 5.30pm, from tomorrow to Wednesday from 6 to 9pm, on Maundy Thursday from 6 to 11pm and on Good Friday 9.30am to 3pm and 7 to 10pm.

• A Good Friday procession will leave the cathedral in Victoria today at 6pm, and Qala parish church at 6.30pm. On Friday, processions will be held in Victoria (St George’s basilica) at 5.30pm, and at Xagħra, Nadur and Żebbuġ at 6pm.

• Bishop Mario Grech will lead the blessing of palm and olive branches at the cathedral in Victoria today at 10am, followed by Mass. On Maundy Thursday, there will be morning prayers at 8.30am, followed by Mass of Holy Chrism at 9am. Mgr Grech will lead the solemn commemoration of the Last Supper at 6.30pm. On Good Friday, he will lead the celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 4pm. The Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis will take part. On Holy Saturday, he will lead the celebration of the Easter Vigil at 8pm and on Easter Sunday he will concelebrate Mass with the cathedral chapter at 6pm.

• Passio, a concert of sacred music, will be performed by the Għaqda Mużikali San Girgor, Kerċem, tomorrow at 7.30pm at Kerċem parish church.

• An animated Mass will be celebrated by Fr Christopher Farrugia OFM, of the Friar Minors at Għajnsielem, on Tuesday at 6pm at St Anthony’s church to prepare for the feast of St Anthony in June. Prior to Mass, a Way of the Cross will be held at 5.30pm.

• Leone Band will hold a concert of sacred music entitled Ave Crux at the cathedral, Victoria, on Tuesday at 8pm.

• An MEPs round table discussion for University students will be held on Wednesday at the Gozo University Centre, Xewkija, at 10am.

• St Joseph Band of Għajnsielem will hold a concert of sacred music at St Anthony church, Għajnsielem, on Wednesday at 7pm.

• Holy Week functions at Don Bosco Oratory will be held as follows: the Eucharistic celebration on Maundy Thursday starts at 7pm; the Good Friday liturgy at 4pm, and the Easter Saturday celebration at 8pm. On Easter Sunday, Mass will be said at 8am and 10.30am. The Seven Visits of Maundy Thursday for adolescents and youths will leave Victoria at 9pm. Booking is recommended on 2155 6616 or 9948 7751. On Good Friday, a Via Crucis at Għammar Hill will be held at 10am, starting from Ta’ Pinu Shrine. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Masses on Easter Sunday will be said at 6.15, 8.30, 10, and 11.15am and at 5pm.

• At St Anthony church, Għajnsielem, the solemn celebration of the Last Supper will take place on Maundy Thursday at 6pm. The commemoration of the Passion of Christ will take place on Good Friday at 3pm. An Easter vigil of prayer will start at 8pm. The sacrament of reconciliation will be available from 4 to 6pm. Masses on Easter Sunday will be said at 6, 7, 8.30 and 11am and at 5.30pm.

• Holy Week services in English will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria, as follows: Maundy Thursday – Mass at 5pm; Good Friday – service at 3pm; Easter vigil – Mass at 7pm; Easter Sunday – Mass at 10am. • At St George’s basilica, Victoria, a Palm Sunday procession will be held today at 10.45am starting from St James’ church, followed by a solemn Mass; tomorrow at 7pm a penitential pilgrimage with the Redeemer statue starts from St Francis’ church; on Tuesday at 6.30pm a penitential service, including the first confession for children preparing for their first Holy Communion, will be presided by Bishop Mario Grech; on Wednesday at 7.30pm, a Way of the Cross presided by Mgr Grech will be held in St George’s Square; on Thursday at 6.30pm, Mass commemorating the Last Supper will be held; on Friday at 3pm, a solemn Good Friday liturgy will be held; on Saturday at 8pm a solemn Easter vigil will be held.

• Apostolic Nuncio to Malta, Archbishop Aldo Cavalli, will preside the liturgical service on Good Friday at 3pm at the Xagħra basilica.

• The Legion of Mary Ecumenical Committee is organising visits to the seven churches for non-Maltese residents of all denominations. The visits will be held on Good Friday starting from St Augustine Square in Victoria at 9.30am. Transport will be available. The visits will be in English and participants can follow on a specially-published booklet.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at the Sacred Heart church, Nadur, on Saturday at 10.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration in St Michael chapel at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish church, Fontana, all year round from Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm.
