Theresa Lungaro-Mifsud’s creative team of teachers and choreographers has put together a colourful programme for The Dance Workshop’s latest dance production A Year in Dance. The production depicts the different celebrations that we experience every month of the year.

The programme opens with the Chinese New Year – fireworks, paper lanterns and dragons bring this month to life.  A short scene from The little Mermaid commemorates the birthday of Hans Christian Anderson. August remembers the capture of Anne Frank and her family, who had been in hiding from the Nazis for two years before being betrayed.  Every month brings with it an occasion worth knowing about.

DanceWorks, the resident company at The Dance Workshop, will be performing two short works by Diane Portelli and Pamela Kerr.  Various dance genres, including classical ballet, modern dance, Spanish, contemporary dance and hip hop will also feature. The common bond between these different dance styles is the high standard of technique and creativity.

A Year in Dance will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at St Agatha’s Auditorium. For tickets call on 9942 9233 or send an e-mail to infothedanceworkshop@gmail.com.
