SWITZERLAND 14 MALTA 29

Malta secured their status in FIRA-AER Division 2A after beating Switzerland 29-14 this afternoon in Winterhur.

Damian Neill’s team hit top form in the second half to seal a fine away win which atoned for their 33-10 defeat to the Netherlands at the Hibs Stadium last weekend.

Switzerland played well in the first half which ended nine-all after James O’Brien converted three penalties for the Maltese team.

The second half was a different story altogether as Malta seized control, pulling away from the hosts with three tries from Toby Quarendon, Dan Apsee and James Morris.
