A British sheep farmer may have broken local records for live lambs born to a single ewe after his Roussin cross Mule gave birth to six healthy lambs.

Rorie Geddes, who farms at Colesmoor Farm, Toller Porcorum, near Dorchester, Dorset, with his wife Rachael, was amazed when the five-year-old mother successfully produced sextuplets.

He said: “Although we have lots of triplets and quadruplets and the occasional quintuplet from our 300 ewes, we have never heard of a commercial ewe having six good lambs. She will probably rear three of them and the other three will join our orphan lambs.”

Rush to follow trendsetting prince

The dungarees worn by Britain’s Prince George for his New Zealand playdate have already sold out in the smallest sizes.

The eight-month-old’s outfit is from Rachel Riley, a British luxury children’s brand based in Marylebone, London. The company also has a store in New York’s Madison Avenue.

The £75 (€91) “classic tailored dungarees” with a sailboat smocked design on the front panel have sold out in the six-month and 12-month sizes on the firm’s website. But mothers prepared to wait for their babies to grow into the outfit can still buy it in sizes 18 months and two years.

Family sues over old folks’ stripper

A lawsuit is claiming an 85-year-old woman was subjected to an unwanted performance by a male stripper when she was living at a New York nursing home.

The lawsuit was filed last month by relatives of the former patient at the East Neck Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre on Long Island.

It claims the woman’s son found a photograph in January 2013 of a male stripper gyrating in front of her. It is not known who shot the photo or when it was taken. Other patients are also in the photo.

The lawsuit says a nurse said the stripper performance was part of an entertainment event.

Five languages can’t solve mystery

Police in Norway are trying to identify a man who understands five languages but claims he cannot remember his own name or where he comes from.

Oslo police have published a photo of the man, who they say was found in a bad condition in the snow in Oslo in December without any identification documents. Police said he is in his 20s, speaks good English with an eastern European accent and also understands Czech, Slovak, Polish and Russian.

Police have already tried to identify him through Interpol, but with no success. They said the man, who now calls himself John Smith, has agreed with police to seek the public’s help in trying to identify him.

Mummy hides a gruesome secret

Researchers at the British Museum made a gruesome discovery when a scan of an ancient mummy revealed a spatula was left lodged in its skull after being used to scoop out its brains.

The body of the man, from Thebes in modern-day Egypt, is believed to have been mummified around 600 BC. It was one of eight mummies that were examined with advanced CT scanners which produce high-resolution data that can be turned into 3D images using software originally designed to make cars.

The image of the man’s mummified body clearly shows the spatula in his head and a series of dental abscesses which would have caused him extremely painful toothache.
