Malta Motorsport Federation (MMF) president Tonio Cini has just been appointed member of the Autorite Sportive Nationale Development Task Force within the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
The group, founded by FIA president Jean Todt, is composed of 17 members from around the world. They were handed the task of sustaining the sport’s global growth.
The ASN Development Task Force is one of the FIA’s core areas of focus for the coming years with the aim of establishing a strategic and focused approach for a Motor Sport Development department.
It will be tasked with supplying administrative support to ASNs, implementing FIA decisions and co-ordinating development activities and plans to help in the progression of the sport from grassroots level.
The Task Force will work closely with the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).
All meetings will be held in conjunction with the WMSC to give direct recommendations to the FIA World Council.
This year the Task Force and WMSC meetings will be held in Marrakech, Munich, Beijing and Doha.
