Emirates has launched the Emirates App for iPad which allows customers to book flights, select seats and meals, manage their Emirates Skywards frequent flyer accounts, check in online, and download their boarding pass directly from the app, among other features.

The App also allows travellers to explore over 130 destinations with quick and handy guides.

“In some markets, we already see about 20 per cent of visitors to emirates.com using iPads, and our customers are increasingly using their iPads and mobile devices to book and manage their travel,” said Patrick Brannelly, Emirates’ vice president.

The Emirates App was launched in the UAE Apple store a few weeks ago and the airline is now working to make the App available for iPhone and Android. New features will be introduced in the coming months.

Shireburn Software powers Artisan e-Store

Shireburn Software has added another merchant to their eStore. The aim of MimiGiftBoutique.com is to market wares from hand-picked artisans and craftsmen to Maltese communities overseas, tourists and locally.

“It’s great to know there is a robust solution like Shireburn that can scale for businesses like ours, giving us the same capabilities as retail giants,” said Maria Muscat of Babbettopolis, one of the brands represented on the site. “The other options are marketplace style sites where you are among hundreds of artisans. MimiGiftBoutique offers us the chance to stand out.”

Shireburn’s eStore is used by a number of retailers and B2B suppliers, including Golden Gate and Retail International’s Winedrop.com, which delivers Marks & Spencer goods locally, among others.
