About a fortnight ago, I had a severe eye infection which was getting worse by the minute. I went to the Floriana health centre at around 2.30am since my eyes were sore and in pain. I was immediately referred to Mater Dei Hospital.
From the emergency section, I was referred to the Opthalmic Ward and I was assisted by a doctor who does his job professionally and truly understands what the needs of his patients are. I was impressed with how he handled the case, especially with all the tests he carried out in order to determine what was the cause of this severe eye infection.
This was one of the rare instances in my life where I felt that as a taxpayer, I was getting a great service in return. The doctor continued to follow my case since he asked me to call at the hospital again the following week for further check-ups.
Well done to him and to all those professionals working in the health sector who are doing such a great job with patients.
