McDonald's Malta today unveiled its newest McDonald’s McDrive Restaurant on the island.

The new McDrive is located along Naxxar Road, Għargħur adjacent to the petrol station. It is the 10th McDonald's restaurant to be opened in Malta by Premier Capital plc, the Maltese Company that is the Developmental Licensee of McDonald's in Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania and Malta.

The new restaurant includes Malta’s sixth McCafé as well as being home to Malta’s second 'drive-thru' restaurant open on a 24-hour basis.

The Għargħur restaurant seats 172 guests, 60 of whom will be accommodated on a terrace overlooking Għargħur valley. Additionally, the restaurant offers a 47-space car park, free Wi-Fi, a gym and fun room, as well as a party area for McDonald’s younger customers.

The opening was made by Gharghur Mayor Mario Gauci, and Melo Hili, chairman of parent company Hili Ventures and Premier Capital.

Mr Hili said the company was looking to open four more restaurants by year's end across the territories where it operates.

The new restaurant has provided 100 full time and part-time jobs. 

This project has taken just over four months to complete. A total of €1.6 million were invested by Premier Capital plc.
