The new Lidl store in Xewkija has joined forces with the Puttinu Cares Foundation to help raise funds for children suffering from cancer.

Volunteers from the foundation sold doughnuts and coffee provided by Lidl on the opening day of its new store. They raised over €2,000.

“This initiative is part of Lidl’s ongoing corporate social responsibility programme, whereby we are committed to give a brighter future to people in need. Having sponsored the Puttinu Cares football marathon and carried out fundraising activities during the opening of the Qormi store last year, our relationship has grown stronger,” said a Lidl representative.

The Puttinu Cares Foundation has been helping families with children who have cancer by offering them care and hospitality since 2002.
