School Lab, a science communication video competition for Form 1-4 students, was launched in January and 37 videos were submitted by the end of March. The videos, covering different scientific topics, came from government, church and private schools all over Malta.

The objective of School Lab is to inspire students to learn and talk more about science and make their school science experiences creative and fun. Students worked in teams of two to five and were supported by their science teachers.

School Lab is organised by the British Council and NSTS Foundation and supported by APS Bank, Parliamentary Secretariat for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, Microsoft, Vodafone, Stage Malta and Merlin Library.

A jury will select three winning entries and the public can vote for their favourite science video clip until Wednesday on the School Lab website at http://famelabmalta.org.mt/school-lab-entries/ ), You Tube School Lab Malta channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT8qtB7N1ou7uk_93GDniOg) and NSTF –Science Facebook page at www.facebook.com/nstfscience.

Likes given to each video will be counted. All School Lab videos can also be seen at the NSTF Science Expo taking place until Saturday at Mcast in Paola.

Four best teams selected by the jury and the audience award-winner will receive prizes and all participating teams receive a certificate. The members of the winning team will receive science kits and a Star account at APS Bank with €50. The prizes will be given at the NSTF Science Expo award ceremony on Saturday at 6pm.
