Jesmond Cachia was recently awarded a Master of Science in software engineering from Hertfordshire University.
As part of his course, Mr Cachia focused on extending his theoretical knowledge and practical skills of model, methodologies, measures and tools that can be employed in the software engineering processes.
This has showed how modelling and measuring of such processes enable quantified decision-making to be carried out during software development.
It also provided the opportunity to develop an awareness of current research and practices in the software engineering industry, which involved using leading edge practices and the investigation of specialised software development approaches.
Mr Cachia submitted a dissertation focusing on the comparison of different technologies when building web applications; the core objectives were to summarise the findings and present them in a way for an objective conclusion to be reached when a web application is to be developed.
The conclusions drawn revolved mainly on the learning curve, tools and efficiency of these technologies.
