The Malta Financial Services Authority has issued a general warning about online foreign exchange brokers, following on a few instances where it warned about specific operators.

The authority said it was aware of an increasing number of websites purporting to be foreign exchange brokers offering their services or otherwise seeking to attract business without being duly licensed or authorised.

A number of these websites claim to have offices in Malta, fraudulently claim to be registered with the MFSA, or say they are authorised, licensed or regulated by the MFSA.
