In 2013, the Richmond Foundation submitted a proposal for a project entitled ‘Enhancing mental health community services’.

The proposal was successfully selected after an evaluation process by the Lifelong Learning Programme Selection/Grant Allocation Committee and was terminated last month.

The main aim of the project is to exchange knowledge, values, skills and practices with other European organisations in the field of mental health well-being. These experiences have proved to be invaluable for the participants, units and organisation at large.

Six employees of the foundation – Francesca Scerri, Katherine Delicata, Tracey Calleja, Jennifer Azzopardi, Rebecca Cassar and Gabriella Cassar – carried out a two-week placement in the UK. The two main transnational partners in this project are Rethink and Hafal.

Certificates of participation were conferred by the foundation’s CEO Antoinette Shah during an in-house training session for employees, during which experiences were shared, followed by a discussion on learning points and their applicability within the organisation.

The European Union Programmes Agency gave its continuous support throughout the implementation of this project.
