‘Rewarding excellence’ was the theme of Dhalia Real Estate’s 2013 awards ceremony, which saw almost 100 consultants and staff come together at the Xara Lodge, Rabat.

“You made 2013 a good year,” Dhalia’s chairman and CEO Chris Grech said.

“This evening is for you, to reward your efforts. But we want to see an even better 2014, to see continued growth and to take advantage of new opportunities in our sector.”

Mr Grech was referring to new incentives, such as the Individual Investor Programme, which has seen increased interest in local property from international markets.

The evening continued with a look at projects planned for this year. Dhalia’s training consultant David Dingli spoke about the new training and tools that will be rolled out to ensure the company’s service levels remain the best in the industry.

Dhalia has embraced technology and will be deploying a variety of new software and hardware items to help consultants identify and source homes for buyers faster than ever.

Of course, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of seven awards to consultants who excelled in their particular areas. Desmond Scerri won best newcomer award, while Tony Scicluna was voted best contributor to the inventory.

Two awards covered the rental market: Yvo Hesselman won most number of lets in 2013, while Etienne Licari was named top letting consultant, having generated the most commissions.

Sandra Grech received awards for both largest number of sales and top sales consultant, while Neville Sciberras was voted Dhalia’s top manager.
