De Rohan Fountain, Valletta.
An exhibition by Matthew Kassar, focusing on some of Malta’s most iconic locations, is running at the German-Maltese Circle in Valletta. The exhibition, titled New Places, uses various materials and colours to re-interpret Malta’s architecture and heritage, with a particular focus on Valletta.
Born in 1968, Kassar is known for his technique – a newspaper collage using acrylic and various other materials, such as gesso and glue. The use of this style can be traced to his earlier abstract work. Kassar has held a number of personal and collective exhibitions, both locally and abroad.
New Places is sponsored by FIMBank plc and is open for viewing until April 28.
