The Labour Party insisted this morning that Opposition leader Simon Busuttil should be clear on how much his company earned from government contracts while he was a serving MEP.

The PL was referring to a report in l-orizzont which claimed that Dr Busuttil did not declare income from Europa Research and Consultancy Services Limted in the MEPs' declaration of assets.

Dr Busuttil has described the report as a 'lie' and sued the newspaper.

The PL said public documents showed that the company made more than a million euro while Dr Busuttil had said that his own income was lower than the minimum wage.

However the PL said this minimum wage was not declared in the declaration of assets.

This was Dr Busuttil's first transparency test, and he was failing, the PL said.
