Dissett is an established and respected TV talk show on Malta’s State television station.

In the transmission of March 27, the sole guest was Simon Busuttil, leader of the Nationalist Party and of the Opposition.

The overall topic was the floating container of gas scheduled to temporarily supply the power station.

The honourable guest abused the recorded interview by his open and blatant harangues to the viewers by repeatedly instigating them most directly and pointedly to castigate the Labour government by not voting in the May 24 elections to select MEPs.

It is a shame that Busuttil was not corrected during the recording.

I feel he was riding roughshod over the broadcasting rules by his vitriolic statements.

Dissett was neither the forum nor the venue to show his spleen.

The misuse and abuse of this TV talk show should not be allowed to go uncorrected.
