Enemalta has appointed a new team of five executive directors and three divisional managers to assist Chief Executive Officer Fredrick Azzopardi in the administration of the organisation.

The team was appointed following a selection process including internal and external calls for applications.

The new managers are Saviour Baldacchino, executive director information techno-logy, quality assurance and regulatory affairs;. Jonathan Scerri, executive director generation and distribution; Carmel Xerri, divisional manager distribution; Roberto Cristiano, executive director human resources and corporate services; Raymond Azzopardi, divisional manager corporate services; Henry Attard, executive director finance; Kevin Chircop, executive director business strategy and projects; and Godwin Agius, divisional manager projects.

The new team will be managing Enemalta before several important developments, including the upgrading of the country’s distribution network, the shift to a cleaner, more sustainable energy generation mix and the implementation of recently-announced inter-national strategic agreements. These developments aim to restore the organisation’s financial position, safeguard the employment of its workers, improve the quality of energy services in Malta and open up new investment and growth opportunities in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

GFO appointment at Burmarrad Commercials

Francis Cuschieri has been appointed as group financial controller for Burmarrad Commercials Group of Companies, a company involved in the leasing, rental, selling and aftersales of private and commercial vehicles.

During his 32-year career, he was financial controller at the Gollcher Group, Forestals Group and Carre Aviation, and was also a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr Cuschieri’s experience will assist the company to continue with its growth and diversification, together with the reorganisation and full integration of the IT systems.

He reports directly to the board of directors.

 

 

Ducharme joins Melita

Melita has appointed Bruno Ducharme, former CEO of Telesystem International Wireless, as an independent non-executive director.

Mr Ducharme is a former CEO who is now a private investor. He sits on the boards of Orange Switzerland, Tele2 Russia, Bité (Baltics) and Hyperoptic (UK). He founded and served for 12 years as the CEO of Telesystem International Wireless, launching mobile operations in the Czech Republic, Romania, China, India and Brazil, followed by a successful trade sale in 2005. He was recently CEO of Vizada.

“Bruno brings vast experience in the telecoms sector and we are very excited to welcome him on our board of directors. His guidance and support will help Melita in its next phase of growth,” said Andrei Torriani, Melita’s CEO.
