A group of travel bloggers will visit Malta and Gozo this year to roam and see what the islands have to offer to then write about their experience.

Called Blog Island Malta, the project is being coordinated by the Malta Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Tourism Ministry.

Authority CEO Josef Formosa Gauci said this afternoon that the first group of bloggers will visit Malta next week while the second group will be in Gozo in September.

Speaking at a press conference in the beautifully restored boutique hotel Palazzo Prince D’Orange in Valletta’s St Paul Street, Mr Formosa Gauci spoke about the importance of marketing the Maltese Islands through the social media.

In total, there will be 72 bloggers from 14 countries visiting Malta through the initiative, Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said in his first press conference after being sworn in his new post this morning.
