Marlene Mizzi, a Labour MEP who is seeking re-election to the European Parliament, disputes claims that the Labour MEPs failed to convince their colleagues before the vote on the citizenship scheme in the European Parliament. She says her one year in Brussels and Strasbourg has been a busy experience and a learning curve.

She views immigration and jobs as being the top issues for next month's elections and says that as a woman coming from a small nation, she felt no inferiority complex.
