The ongoing talk of the town is that, should the proposed high building go ahead in Triq is-Simar, Xemxija, it will be nothing but a permanent scar in the face of Xemxija.

It will certainly jar with the harmony of the present landscape where all the other blocks of villas are of the same uniform height with surrounding gardens whereas what is being proposed is completely out of proportion.

It will not just be a black eye, whose swelling goes down after a few days, but a permanent scar that will last forever.

We are in time to prevent this eyesore, only if the appeals board confirms what the planning authority’s nine-member board did when it unanimously rejected this onslaught of the environment.

Incidentally, why are the speculators involved in the project not answering any of this ongoing media correspondence? Are they too ashamed of this environmental deformation and want it to remain out of public knowledge?
