British Airways today recommenced its scheduled flights from London Gatwick to Malta.

It will transport up to 145 passengers daily on its Boeing 737 and Airbus 319/320 aircraft.

British Airways’ director Gatwick Peter Simpson said: “We are delighted to be launching this new route to Malta, we are increasing our capacity from Gatwick for summer 2014 allowing us to return to the island. We believe the convenient timings for the services will make the route attractive to tourists as well as those visiting friends and relatives.”

Hand-baggage only tickets in economy class start from €54 one-way, including all taxes and charges.

The carrier offers a 23kg luggage allowance, along with one piece of hand baggage and one handbag or laptop for economy ticket holders. Business class travellers are allowed two checked bags of 23kg each.
