Video interviews of youths talking about their careers, talents, social life and fashion are being featured on The Zone at www.timesofmalta.com/thezone. Tomorrow new interviews with European Parliament Information Office (EPIO) intern Albert Camilleri and Euroscuola participants Dario Cacopardo and Tessa Schembri will be uploaded.

What is an MEP’s role? What are their day-to-day responsibilities? What does it feel like to attend a plenary session of the European Parliament and be surrounded by people from all over Europe?

The aim of the Euroscuola project is to create awareness, understanding and foster learning among young students. After sitting for the exam and being selected to take part in the Euroscuola initiative, Schembri and Cacopardo talk to The Zone about their experience during the trip, what they learned, and why they wanted to take part in the first place.

Before he took up the internship position at the EPIO, Camilleri, 22, who has a Masters in European Studies, took part in numerous EU initiatives, such as Comenius and Youth in Action exchanges. At University he got involved in various NGOs such as the KSU, JEF Malta and the NSTF Mini-European Assembly. His continuous proactive approach made him an easy choice to be taken on board at the EPIO.
