DECESARE. On March 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, aged 61, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Dominic, her daughter Dorianne and her husband Ray, her brothers and sisters, her in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8am for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Gudja cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GERMAN. On March 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, RONALD, aged 79, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, née Dalmas, his daughter Silvana and her husband Martin Vella, his grandson Luke, his brothers Herman, Brian and his wife Marise, his brother-in-law Mgr Joseph Dalmas, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave. A big thank you to the nursing officer of Urology 1 and his staff for their great help and kindness. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAHRA FENECH. On March 19, LISA MARIA, at the tender age of 15, went to meet the Lord and join her beloved mother Carmen. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her heartbroken father Tony, Bella, her beloved brother Nicholas and his wife Natasha, her cherished niece Michelle, and her adored grandmother Carmen Fenech. She will also be greatly missed and mourned by her devoted aunts and uncles, Lino and Cettina, John, Winston and Doris, Carmen, widow of Frank and Antoinette, widow of George, Maria and Ġużi, Frans and Maria, her cousins and their children, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Valletta, tomorrow at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Caritas Malta, Floriana, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, in Your infinite mercy, grant her eternal peace and rest.

AGIUS. Remembering with much love and gratitude our dearest parents PETER and VIOLET who left for a better life on April 5, 1990 and March 27, 2003 respectively. Power cuts

Due to scheduled maintenance works on the electricity grid, there will be power cuts tomorrow in, or parts of, the following areas:

Summer time will commence at 2am on March 30 and will end at 3am on October 26.

Church holds Feast of Forgiveness

The Church will hold a Feast of Forgiveness (Festa ta’ Maħfra) tomorrow, the feast of Christ the Redeemer, and on April 10 on the eve of the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.

Pope Francis urged Catholics last Sunday to participate in a similar initiative tomorrow and on Saturday, which will be held at St Peter’s Basilica and churches around Rome.

In Malta, five churches will remain open until late for confessions. The penitential celebration will kick off with Mass in every church.

Archbishop Paul Cremona will lead the yearly pilgrimage with the miraculous statue of Christ the Redeemer at the parish dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, in Senglea, at 6pm. Confessions will continue till midnight after Mass.

Pro-Vicar General Anton Gouder will celebrate Mass at St Mary’s parish, Birkirkara, at 8pm. This will be followed by confessions till midnight.

Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna will say Mass at 9pm at the Millennium chapel in Paceville. Confessions will continue till 2am.

Fr Charles Tabone, the Archbishop’s delegate, will celebrate Mass at 8pm at the parish of St Francis, Qawra. Priests will then be available for confessions until midnight.

Confessions will also be heard at the Virtù Archbishop’s seminary chapel, Rabat, between 10pm and midnight.

At the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, in Gozo, Bishop Mario Grech will say Mass at 6.30pm, followed by confessions until midnight.
