Much has been said about nightclub noise over the years and, again, lately but no one seems to regard the excessive noise from cars as intrusive or even as pollution.

We have had, for far too long, cars with exhaust pipes the size of drain pipes, blasting out excessive pollution as well as excessive noise. How they pass the VRT I can only hazard a guess.

We are all subject to the boom, boom, boom of passing cars with extra stereo equipment fitted and the bass so high we not only get the booming from the vehicle but also see it vibrating.

I have spoken out against this noise pollution a number of times over the years but to no avail. I wonder why the medical authorities have not spoken out or done anything to try to stop this practice. It is not only annoying to others but is also very harmful to the occupants of the car to have all that vibration going through them in such a confined space.

If it takes legislation to stop this very annoying pollution then so be it but I think I am right in saying that the majority of voters would be in favour of any legislation that puts a stop to this annoying practice.
