A year on since the last general election and the Nationalist Party is still trying to gain lost ground. To the surprise of many staunch supporters who wish the PN well, it looks like it is finding it difficult to narrow the gap that exists between it and the Labour Party.

This despite Labour’s road map, which really never existed, the hundreds or more appointments being granted irrespective of the so-called meritocracy, the grave mistakes being perpetrated, the illegal promotions in the top echelons of the army and elsewhere, despite everything....

Why is Simon Busuttil so out of step with public opinion despite the changes that have been made within the PN?

Resounding support for Joseph Muscat’s policies have created a powerful effect and mass approval from his supporters. He has a way of manipulating public opinion in his favour while the tactics employed by Busuttil have little or no effect on the public.

According to a recent opinion poll conducted by Malta Today, Muscat is way ahead. The question is how long is Busuttil prepared to go to narrow the wide gap that exists between the two political leaders?
