Before last Christmas, our street light ceased to function and it was reported to Naxxar local council both by our neighbours and ourselves. The lady at the council, in turn, reported it to Enemalta.

I was ringing the council every week about it and they were contacting Enemalta whose responsibility it supposedly was, as they told me: “if it isn’t done, then ring us again.”

I waited at least a month before the council decided it was their responsibility after all.

After further shifting of responsibility, I telephoned the council again this week and, guess what, it is now Enemalta’s problem again (case reference 20614022204980).

Obviously someone is not doing one’s job. Please, please can someone assume responsibility for one stupid light bulb and makes sure it actually works? I only expect things like this in a Third World country.
