Low-cost airline Ryanair presented Teenage Cancer Trust (UK) with a €100,000 cheque from the sales proceeds of 10,000 copies of the Ryanair 2014 Cabin Crew Charity Calendar, which sold out in record time.

Following over 400 charity applications, Ryanair’s cabin crew selected Teenage Cancer Trust to receive the proceeds of the 2014 calendar and the funds will be used to support their 27 specialist cancer units for young people in the UK.

The 2014 calendar, featuring 13 Ryanair cabin crew, proved to be a huge hit once more, while a behind-the-scenes ‘making of’ video, shot on location in Chania, also broke records, with over 830,000 views on You Tube.

Ryanair’s cabin crew calendar stars have now raised over €700,000 for charity since 2008, supporting seven charities.

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said 81.5million passengers would fly on Ryanair’s lowest fares this year. The company was delighted to support Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and survival chances for young people aged 13 to 24 who have cancer.

Teenage Cancer Trust’s Louise Brooks thanked Ryanair’s cabin crew for selecting the trust as their charity of choice and for all their hard work in selling the calendar.

“This is a fantastic amount of money raised, which will go towards continuing our work with young people with cancer in the UK,” she said.
