The Floyd Campaign, a philanthropic initiative in aid of animals, kicked off this month.

The campaign is supported by Royal Canin, Borg Cardona & Co. Ltd and the Pink Panther Team Malta.

Borg Cardona & Co. Ltd is donating five cents with every kilo of Royal Canin pet food sold.

To date, the sum of €1,140.75 has already been raised in aid of local animal sanctuaries and feeders.

Apart from being a lucky Maine coon cat, Floyd, which is owned by Nevise Borg Caligari and Pierre Borg, took part in several European and international cat shows, achieving admirable results in just a few months.

Being avid animal lovers, Floyd’s owners decided to donate all his winnings in the form of cat food, treats and other prizes to abandoned animals. This started off the campaign, which aims to improve the well-being of cats and dogs residing in sanctuaries and shelters and other stray cats and dogs found abandoned on the streets.

Buyers of pet food should look out for the sticker with The Floyd Campaign. For more information, search for The Floyd Campaign on Facebook or watch animal rights activist Maria Jenkins’ appeal at www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDs8n_GPP8Q.
