Marella celebrated its concept store in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Milan, with special guest Milla Jovovich.

Christine and Robert Pace, directors of Dorkins Ltd, local franchisee for Marella, attended the opening.

The store features a warm and welcoming environment spread over 500 square metres, where one is able to move about and feel at ease. The space displays a series of rooms and is set by wallpaper that changes its pattern, highlighting the different souls of the brand.

The main colour is pink in its many nuances, characteristic of a sophisticated femininity, which complements the grey floor, the brilliance of copper and the lightness of glass. The ceiling features shiny elements emphasising the layout.

On the other hand, the flooring focuses on heavy elements such as marble tables and walnut containers, contrasting with the lightness of the walls. The pivoting glass and steel windows bring the city into the store, creating a relationship between interior and exterior.

Two LED walls, 33 and 10 square metres wide, are the main feature of the store.

The brand launched its spring/ summer 2014 collection, which sees a renewed energy in pastel colours and candy tones. Pink and mint are delicate and sweet but are intense when used in graphic patterns mixed with black, white and yellow.

Geometric designs on the boxy blouse or the tunic dress in cotton poplin are revamped by a new-generation colour block. Colourful stripes give appeal to slim pants or shorts to match the T-shirt.

The concept of fluidity is the essence of tops and dresses, never exceeding into oversize. Comfort is a priority, but style is effortless and summery. The holiday mood is the brand’s starting point, giving lightness to the more formal garments.

Must-have dresses for the new season have simple patterns, are monochrome and clean-cut with fitted waists and full skirts just like in the 1950s. The traditional fabrics, cotton and linen, are raw, sheer, embroidered and iridescent.
